The artist representation taken from
this particular advert conforms to the conventions of the deep house genre,
artist as a result of many contributing attributes. One being the appearance of
the artist. Guetta is seen in clothing which the target audience can relate to.
This is seen in the casual T-shirt work by the artist who is sold in many high street
stores. Through the use of dyers theory the artist is seen as ordinary, which
allows the audience to relate with the artist.
The choice of background contributes
to the typical deep house artist representation; the use of a summer abroad
destination seen by the deck chairs and the palm trees. This connotes a party
destination places a place deemed to have parties like many summer festival or
holidays, this is highlighted by the bold white statement “the must check out
party” illustrating the party theme. It is clear that the artist is passing the
theme of fun on the audience. Locations deemed both fun and a place to party.
Furthermore, Dyers theory shows the artist as being the star with the headlines

appears to have an evident persuasive motif, connoting the natural world such
as the sea, sky, trees. It is very conventional for deep house artists to focus
on nature in their visual representations as it portrays them as more down to
earth and therefore the target audience will find them more appealing as they
feel they are easy to relate to. This representation is also relevant in
regards to the other colors used in the advert; green connoting grass, trees
etc and yellow also connoting sunlight, sand etc. Therefore this representation
of the artist being down to earth through the natural motif highlighting a
relatable artist which the public can relate to.

for the advert to give the right impression to its audience and present the
correct artist image in order to attract the correct target market. Conventions

through the use of hiding his identity. This is achieved by his back
facing the camera in the main image. This will create a mystery identity to his
target audience. This follows the conventions of the genre as deep house/ dance
genre as they focus on their music rather than the image created of themselves.
By hiding the artist identity it allows him to portray the feeling on the
audience, therefore increasing the artist success. Although the artist identity
is hidden it allows the audience to focus on the crowd behind him. Which gives the
impression that he has a large fan base as there is a vast amount of people in
the image enjoying his music? This will therefore boost the artist success as
the audience will see the artist success and the people enjoying the music, the
audience will also want to have this feeling by joining the artist fan base,
boosting his success. The feeling of enjoyment is also highlighted through the artist’s

bright white colour - grabbing the attention of anyone who comes across it. The
bold font and white glowed colouring helps to attract the audience. This

bottom of the advert allow the dates and venues along with other important
information to be more visible for onlookers. This is through the use of white
writing which stands out more on the black background. There is little
